On Friday night we were invited to the Youth Group led by Pastor Simasiku. The meeting was held at the OVC (Orphans and Vulnerable Children’s Center) at approximately 6 pm (17 hours as the locals say). There were about 15 young adults, Pastor Simasiku, and our complete team. It was a great time of sharing and getting to know each other. I remembered a few of the young adults from my prior visits (3-4 years ago) and it was a blessing to see them again.
One of the greatest WOW moments of the week came as the group finished discussing the chosen scripture. Eric had managed to bring each member of the Youth Group their very own Holy Bible and it was so awesome to see their faces light up in delight. These young people have access to Holy Bible’s at the OVC but they must remain on the property so a Holy Bible that is truly their own is a marvelous gift. Some of the young men even hugged and kissed their Holy Bible and thanked the Lord for providing them. The joy was amazing!
Saturday morning the Youth Group met at Simba House and came proudly carrying their new Holy Bible’s. During their meeting Eric worked with them on the Skill Development information just as he had with the adults in the Mission School classes at Elim Pentecost Church.
