Relief efforts

November 26, 2016

Last Sunday I was blessed to attend a dinner at Lighthouse Church in Mooresville, NC to visit with some of my spiritual family as well as to welcome and honor Fiona (Dixon-Thompson) and Rury Waddle and their children with a dinner.  They are missionaries to Zambia and are definitely considered family.  It was great to see them as it has been several years.

They brought information regarding the current status of many projects, particularly those in Mwandi, Zambia where part of my heart has remained since 2008. Mwandi and much of Zambia, as well as surrounding areas, continue to work through a second year of severe drought.  World Renew is helping with relief efforts in the area.  You may find World Renew on Facebook by using @world renew in the search box or in the messenger app as well as at http://www.worldrenew.net/zambia

Fiona also shared a new video showing the OVC (Orphan's and Vulnerable Children's Center) program and it speaks to the current and the ongoing needs of the center.  There is so much great work that takes place at the OVC!  It has been an honor and a privilege to see so many of these children continue to grow and to succeed in their studies through the years.  The current video regarding the OVC program may be viewed at https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B77RVfP0BMuLcFlUWGxlcDNtREU

I hope that you will check these programs out and please add those in Mwandi, Zambia, and surrounding areas to your prayer list as our national news outlets have not reported this drought to the American community.  This years rainy season has just begun and with sufficient and regular rain the local crops should be harvested around April/May.  Any support is appreciated and prayers are of course a key support component ❤

Blessings,
Tammy
